First stop: Michigan! We drove up Thursday afternoon after I got done with school. It is SO nice getting out of the house and just having a different place to stay. We got in some great sleep, some good relaxing and some hang out time with the family! Oh, and a visit to Frakenmuth, a little German tourist town near Saginaw. There were so many things to take pictures of!
We can’t afford to buy a mug for every place we have been…so how about if we just take pictures of us holding mugs from each place we go?? Haha!
Theo “treated” me to some games in the arcade. Lots of fun.
So many teapots in so many different colors!
Oh, one more thing… Theo and I got tattoos. Yes, like the real deal. Yes, we did think about it before we got them. Yes, we did enjoy getting them together. Yes, they are hidden and can be covered at all times if we live in a culture and context where they are frowned upon. Yes, it did cost money, but we took that into account and thought it through. Yes, it hurt…but not as bad as I was expecting. I personally like mine a lot.
((This is cruel…but the picture of the actual tat won’t load…and for some reason I don’t have any pictures of Theo’s completed tattoo.))
Just a teaser…this is what mine looks like…without the heart.
Next stop: PA to visit Joy and her fiancee Peter!
Lake Eerie was a little bit chilly! haha!
We played some games…
And went to the mall…
Theo and I decided that we want to visit every National Park in the United States (yes, that does include Alaska and Hawaii). We probably won’t visit all of them for many years but it is a super fun goal to think about. This is Cuyahoga Valley National Park…the only National Park in Ohio. Not only do we have to step foot in each park, but walk at least a mile in each one. At this park, we pulled into the parking lot, picked the nearest trail and started out. It was sprinkling, but not too chilly. The path that we picked happened to be a path that led to another path, so it was not too glorious. Everything was dead, but we did some birds! We also got to see the Cuyahoga River, which is a super windy river. It only goes 30 miles as the crow flies, but is 90 miles long, just from curving and bending all over the place!
Our first National Park together.
We also spent a lot of time driving! =)
That’s all for now…but I’ll keep you posted, since my break isn’t over yet!
